Community Health Nurse, Better Beginnings for Kingston Children

Permanent position 17.5 hours per week

Kingston Community Health Centres care for individuals and families,
and respond to neighbourhood concerns, working to improve individual
health and build healthy communities.  

Position Purpose

  • To provide perinatal education and support to women
  • To promote healthy lifestyle choices and breast-feeding
  • To provide training and support to staff

Qualifications

  • BSc in Nursing
  • Registration with Ontario College of Nurses
  • experience in community-based prenatal education
  • knowledge and experience in breast-feeding support
  • excellent written, verbal and computer skills
  • experience working in an inter-disciplinary team
  • group facilitation skills
  • ability to work flexible hours
  • knowledge of the north Kingston community
