CHNET-Works! New Series of "Fireside Chats" March 2006

CHNET-Works! "Fireside Chats" provide professionals in community health
with the opportunity to connect directly with experts in their field.
The expert ("Advisor on Tap") will make a brief audio and "online"
presentation, respond to participants' questions and involve
participants  in further discussions.

March  3, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
Dr Nancy Edwards, University of Ottawa
Preventing falls in the community--safe stairs and bathroom grab bars
are part of the solution.  This session will highlight research
findings and implementation insights. There will be a discussion of
potential changes to provincial building codes.

March 10, 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST
"Fishbowl" panel discussion on Built Environments and Health
Viewpoints and insights from municipal planners, community champions,
engineers and others to follow up the Built Environments and Health
"Fireside Chat" held on February 3.

March 24, 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST
Clara Fitzgerald, Director, Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging
Activity and an Aging Population--a look at the issues and training
needs related to community based, home-care and care facilities
programs and policies. A key info sharing and discussion session for
seniors who are community leaders, as well as practitioners and
caregivers, researchers and policy makers.

simultaneous access to high-speed Internet.  Registration is
