Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals for Health Cost Reduction

Food is the sustainer of life, but new findings point to
health-promoting components in foods that can alleviate many of our
ailments and to improve quality of life.  This symposium will
critically examine the potential impact of increased consumption of
nutraceuticals and functional foods on health outcomes and health care
costs. Attendees will hear leading researchers, consultants, and health
economists present the business case for increased consumption of
functional foods and nutraceuticals as a viable strategy to control the
rising cost of health care.
