Reporting to the Director of Health Promotion, the successful applicant
will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the
school program within the framework of the Comprehensive School Health
Model. The Comprehensive School Health Department is comprised of
a multidisciplinary team of health promotion professionals who use a
variety of strategies to promote health in 164 school communities
across four school boards.
The position requires a Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Promotion,
Health Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
Previous management experience with proven communication,
organizational and human resource management skills is necessary.
Experience in public health population based program planning and
evaluation, project management, and policy development is essential,
preferably in the area of chronic disease and injury prevention, sexual
health, and child and adolescent health. Previous experience dealing
with school board systems and community partners and coalitions is
desirable. Bilingualism in French and English is considered a
