ARAPO Recognition Award 2006-07

The terms of reference for the ARAPO Recognition Award is now available for viewing.

The ARAPO Recognition Award is presented in recognition of individuals
and organizations that have made, and continue to make, outstanding
efforts to reduce the effect of alcohol promotion in Ontario.

This past year Sarah Sales, a student from Owen Sound, won the Top
Individual award for her exceptional leadership seen in her
participation in the Youth and Alcohol, Messages and Media Campaign--
Stage 1 and organizing a National Students Against Impaired Driving day
for her peers, which included various activities to help her peers be
media literate about alcohol advertising. Also, Many Paiva of Bayshore
Broadcasting won the Top Organization award for the radio Public
Service Announcement he helped create to increase awareness of the
consequences of risky drinking among youth.
