New Report--Canada's Experience Translating Workplace Knowledge in Cancer Settings

The Applied Research and Analysis Directorate is pleased to announce
the release of this research project led by Dr. Margaret Fitch of the
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

The objective of this research was to determine the awareness and use
of selected policy reports by senior decision makers in cancer
settings.  The research team also identified quality workplace
initiatives and the factors that influenced their success.

This report recommended that future policy reports be targeted to
members of their intended audience by being specially prepared to
inform specific contexts and to clarify anticipated uses. This would
allow decision makers a greater understanding of their relevance and
implications. As well, the report suggested that organizations
establish accountabilities for actual use of policy reports in decision
making.
