New Report--The Supply, Distribution and Working Context of Context of Health Professionals: Why Do Things (Almost) Never Change?

The Applied Research and Analysis Directorate is pleased to announce the release of this research project led by Dr. John Lavis of McMaster University.  The project sought to describe the knowledge-translation (KT) activities on  health human resources (HHR) policy issues by studying researchers' and  policymakers' activities, knowledge, views and use of the research knowledge.

Findings from the case studies revealed that increased knowledge translation had  helped to direct political attention towards issues in nursing work  environments. It also made policy networks that had previously been limited to health care executives and government officials more accessible to a broader range of social actors. This heightened engagement enabled policy choices to  move in new directions that would not have been otherwise possible.
