The Anne Johnston Health Station is a not-for-profit community health centre providing a wide range of programs and services that promote the health and well-being of seniors, youth and people with physical disabilities requiring an accessible barrier free environment.
The chiropodist works as a member of the interdisciplinary health team of RN(EC)s, RNs, physicians, dieticians, counsellors/therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacist, health promoters, personal attendants, peer support coordinator, and volunteer coordinator. The chiropodist works very closely with all team members (internal referrals, consultations, health promotion projects etc).
The chiropodist provides a fill range of chiropody services for seniors (in full and provides home visits for those who are home-bound) and people with physical disabilities. The majority of the chiropodist's practice is general/routine care, wound care and biomechanics. A health promotion focus involves the chiropodist in presentations and workshops in the community. The chiropodist is involved in clinical instruction of 1st and 2nd year chiropody students from the Michener Institute.
- Registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Very strong clinical assessment skills
- Experience in community-based health care
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills
