The Public Health Division of the City of Toronto is inviting proposals on the following:
"Taking Action on Chlamydia" was initiated in 2004 by the Sexual Health Promotion Program at the Public Health Division of the City of Toronto in response to epidemiological data on sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Chlamydia was found to be the most commonly reported sexually transmitted bacterial infection in young women and men and rated continue to rise.
The goal of "Taking Action on Chlamydia" is to reduce the rates of Chlamydia through a multi-faceted social marketing campaign implemented over the duration of five years. The purpose of this RFP is to select a qualified vendor for phase four of the campaign to develop and produce media materials targeting sexually active youth 15-24 year old males and females in priority neighbourhoods who access a family physician for health care services within the City of Toronto and to build on the work completed during Phases One, Two and Three. "Priority Neighbourhood" is defined as geographical divisions which have disproportionately high rates of Chlamydia, other STIs and teen births that also coincides with low income.
The vendor will demonstrate knowledge of the determinants of health and sexual health promotion, and be able to integrate the principles of social inclusion, collective empowerment, community partnership and equity into practice. The vendor will have experience working in Toronto's priority neighbourhoods and/or with marginalized and racialized youth and experience developing communication material geared to these youth.
