No Health Without Mental Health: Community Approaches to Mental Health Promotion

Vancouver, June 10, 2007

This symposium is affiliated with the 19th IUHPE Conference, "Health Promotion Comes of Age", and will be held prior to the conference opening ceremony.

Mental health promotion requires working upstream and in the community for success. This one-day symposium will bring together international and Canadian speakers, researchers, and practioners to:

  • increase collaboration
  • facilitate debate, discussion and networking
  • advance mental health promotion research and practice
  • demonstrate applying and evaluating community approaches to mental health promotion
  • highlight effective community policies, programs and strategies for practice and evaluation from around the globe

Keynote speaker: Dr. Eva Jane-Llopis, Mental Health Program, World Health Organization, Regional Office for Europe.

The symposium's registration fee is $150.00 CAD. A limited number of travel bursaries are available for people from less urban areas across Canada to enable their participation in the symposium.
