Canadian/International School Health Conference

This conference features international, Canadian and BC speakers addressing the theme of social development and mental health in schools.  Timely, hands-on sessions from the RCMP on school lock-downs, Australia's national school mental health program for student and staff wellness, empowerment-focused health education curriculum from Denmark, two leading safe school programs from Alberta and Ontario, Canada's leading expert in school substance abuse prevention, parent and youth engagement from Scotland and Europe, innovative local programs from Langley, BC, Saanich-Victoria, Surrey and Vancouver, school-based health clinics from Nova Scotia and more.

Participants will receive five tool-kits/inventories of selected education, policy, planning and assessment resources. Participants will also receive free admission to over 25 webinars in 2007-08 through a membership in the Canadian School Health Knowledge Network that is included in the conference registration fee.

Participants will also have an influence in the development of several Canadian initiatives such as Canada's Commission on Mental Health, the development of a Compendium of Resources in Safe Schools, Better practice Guidelines in substance abuse prevention,
