New Resource: Taking Control: Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease and Stroke

Heart disease and stroke are Canada's leading cause of death, so it's important to understand how to prevent these serious illnesses that will impact the lives of almost 70% of Canadians in some way.    A great place to start is to learn to identify and control your risk factors - and the Heart and Stroke Foundation can help. While you can't control your age, family history, gender or ethnicity, there are many other risk factors - obesity, diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure and elevated blood cholesterol - that you can control.  Talk to your healthcare professional and use this booklet to help guide you towards a heart-healthier life.

To order copies of the brochure "Taking Control: Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke" in, English, French, Chinese (traditional character set), Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu, please call the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario at 1-888-HSF-INFO (1-888-473-4636).
