This Position Is Being Offered on a part-time contract basis from date of hire to July 1, 2008.
Youth Net/Talking About Mental Illness (TAMI) Halton is a Halton community based mental health promotion program run by youth for youth. It is a community partnership involving Halton Region Health Department, YMCA of Oakville, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Canadian Mental Health Association, Halton Catholic District School Board, Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, Halton District School Board and Halton Youth.
Education or experience and background in youth mental health issues is an asset
Knowledge and experience on youth issues including self esteem, stress, body image, substance use and diversity are definite assets.
Understanding of youth group dynamics, good listening, organization, documentation and presentation skills are required.
The ideal candidate, has an awareness of Halton community youth resources, experience in group facilitation, youth development and the ability to identify youth at risk
Equivalent combination of skills and experience will be considered.
