Initial Assignment: Diversity Programs Office

Position Description

The Diversity Programs Office is seeking a well-qualified and experienced individual as a CH&E Specialist in the Toronto office. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Diversity, you will make a significant contribution to the diversity and equity organizational change agenda at the Centre for Addition and Mental Health. Specifically, you will provide significant expertise and contribute to the coordination and support of diversity initiatives across CAMH and with stakeholder communities. You will collaborate with appropriate staff within your division to support the development and coordination of core divisional diversity priorities. You will also provide support to CAMH's diversity training and capacity building priority. In addition, you will provide critical diversity leadership to the emerging provincial health transformation agenda and provide staff support to key internal and external diversity committees. You will participate in selected projects, which might require some travel to various parts of the province. This position is currently located at 1001 Queen Street West in Toronto.

Qualifications

A Master's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in the Health Sciences, Social Sciences or Adult Education fields is required. As well, you have extensive working experience and knowledge in the area of diversity. You have working knowledge of key equity and human rights legislation, concepts, issues and principles. You have a working knowledge of the current provincial health transformation agenda, particularly the Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), in respect to health disparities, health equity and diversity issues. You have excellent interpersonal negotiating, mediation, planning, research, training and coordinating skills. You are knowledgeable about key change management and organizational development principles (particularly with respect to diversity). You have well-developed computer skills (working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and information management software). You have a sound basic knowledge of the fields of addiction and mental health. Bilingualism (English / French) is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $26.55-$35.82 per hour
