Description of the Position
Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Marketing, Safe Kids Canada, and under the overall direction of the Director, Programs and Services the primary functions of the Coordinator, Stakeholder Liaison are to represent the organization to external stakeholders, promote and implement national coordination of community programs and represent the needs of members to Safe Kids Canada. Broad knowledge and experience in health promotion, program planning, implementation and evaluation. This position also assists other Safe Kids Canada staff in developing tactics, strategies and communications with key stakeholders. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, 35 hours per week; Salary will commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree with three years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree, certificate in program administration or health promotion, or a post degree in health information, health promotion or community development is desired. Strong emphasis on clear, concise verbal and written communications in both English and French and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, to access, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget. Comfort and skill serving as a media spokesperson. Proficiency with Windows based environment; strong word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet research skills. Strong understanding of principles of social marketing, behaviour change and health promotion. A willingness and ability to travel to meet the demands of the job on a regular basis.
