The 2007 theme, "I have the right to be active" ("J'ai le droit d'être actif"), was chosen by the Health Minister to encourage physical activity among children and inform parents, caregivers and educators that physical activity is essential to children's health and well-being. This theme also reflects Canada's commitments under Article 24 of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, which recognizes children's right to be healthy and enjoy the highest attainable standard of health.
Our website will be updated related resources about the theme, and general information about National Child Day. Please visit http://www.cccf-fcsge.ca/ncdnov20_en.htm for more information.
To share your own National Child Day activities, you can email them to us for posting to our site, or join our Facebook group (search "Canadian Child Care Federation" at http://www.facebook.com), and participate in our National Child Day discussion.
