Two experienced policy professionals are invited to join the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, health system policy and relations branch, Aboriginal health strategy unit. Applying your excellent strategic policy, analytical, conceptual and negotiation skills, you will: coordinate the development of complex strategic policy initiatives; provide expert advice and support on policy decision-making processes, including identifying and analyzing emerging provincial policy trends.

Qualifications: ability to analyze and advise on complex public policy issues and trends, and use a variety of computer software applications; expert knowledge of government policy development, decision-making processes/procedures, including policy/legislative approvals processes; demonstrated ability to coordinate research, use economic analysis and problem-solving techniques, and set/manage/adjust competing priorities to meet tight timelines; excellent tact, diplomacy and negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution and relationship building skills; strong project leadership and ability to collaborate horizontally; knowledge of/skills in understanding Ontarios health system and the health status/needs of Ontarios Aboriginal population, and effective, culturally sensitive strategies to address those needs; superior communication skills; experience with broader Aboriginal policy; knowledge of Aboriginal culture.
