Acts in a strategic capacity as part of a multi-disciplinary management and staff team to develop, implement and evaluate health protection, promotion, and prevention programs and activities for young children and their families in Waterloo Region. Manages staff, develops programs, policies and procedures, directs information systems and collaborates with community partners to achieve program objectives. Current assignment includes management of the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Healthy Babies, Healthy Children screening and assessment services, pre and postpartum contacts, referrals to community services, short term health teaching and Healthy Children Info Line activities and related child health services, including prebirth and postbirth clinics at local hospitals.
With a Master's degree in Nursing, Health Promotion or a health-related field, plus significant related public health experience in a progressively responsible leadership, supervisory or management capacity, you possess comprehensive knowledge of theories and principles of public health management, including health promotion, epidemiology, community health planning, program evaluation and research methodology. Comprehensive knowledge of labour relations, professional practice standards, policy and program development will be required, as well as technical skills complemented by leadership, facilitation, negotiation, advocacy and public relations skills.
Wage/salary: $66,521.80 - $83,155.80 per annum
