Request for Submissions--Growing Active Kids 2008

Toronto Community Foundation's Growing Active Kids grants program supports groups in Toronto that are working to increase access to high quality sports and recreational activities for children and youth.  Effective recreational programs support healthy development and help young people to connect to their community, interact with their peers, and develop their skills and leadership abilities. Grants of up to $15,000 are available for programs that meet the Growing Active Kids priorities:

  • Increasing Access: Recreation programs that enable participation by children and youth who otherwise might not have access due to cost or other barriers;
  • Encouraging Diversity: Programs that encourage diverse ethno-cultural participation;
  • Developing Leadership: Programs that encourage leadership and mentoring of youth and/or provide opportunities for young people to gain paid employment.

Who can apply?

The Growing Active Kids program is open to any registered charitable organization located in the City of Toronto offering programs that directly benefit children under the age of 18 who are residents of the City of Toronto.  Non-profit organizations that are not registered Canadian charities but that wish to submit an application should refer to the document "Information for Non-Profit Organizations Submitting Projects to the Toronto Community Foundation" for additional application requirements.
