The Department of Health, Safety and Environment's (HSE) mission is to integrate a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible culture into the working and learning experience at UBC.  In expanding and enhancing their service offerings, the Department is looking for the following key individuals:

Senior Advisor Occupational and Research Safety
You are responsible for promoting and implementing comprehensive risk-based safety and regulatory oversight programs for University research activities, with particular attention to the management of occupational, biological, chemical and radiation safety matters.  Qualifications required:  University degree in Science or Engineering, with a graduate degree in a related discipline or in administration. Minimum of ten years progressive experience and responsibility in fields directly related to safety issues including experience in a University research environment. Competition #08A-012

HSE Advisor (Management Systems)
You are responsible for leading the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of HSE management systems, including occupational hygiene controls and standards, across the University.  Qualifications required:  University degree in Sciences, Occupational Safety or Engineering. A minimum of four years related experience in a HSE function in a municipal, industrial or educational setting. Competition #08A-011

HSE Associate (Occupational Hygiene)
You are responsible for the implementation and delivery of occupational hygiene and safety programs to the University.  You assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of HSE management systems. Qualifications required:  University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Engineering or related field.  Three years related experience in a HSE function in a municipal, industrial or educational setting.  Competition #08A-010

Occupational Health Nurse (Medical Surveillance Program)
You are responsible for planning, developing and maintaining UBC's Medical Surveillance Program activities and assessing needs considering and following pre-established treatment and intervention protocols, relevant legislation, hazards, personnel and other relevant resources. Qualifications required:  Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia, Occupational Health Nursing Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and training. A minimum of three years of related nursing and administration experience in a unionized, multiple-trade employer.  Competition  #08A-009.
