Join the Founding Administrative Leadership Team of the Agency for Health Protection and Promotion

With a mandate to protect and promote the health of all Ontarians, the newly created Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP) will serve as a hub, linking researchers, public health practitioners and front-line health workers with the best scientific intelligence from around the world.

The Agency will put science into practice with its broad mandate that includes infectious disease prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease and injury prevention, and occupational and environmental health.  The Agency will conduct original research, develop highly effective mechanisms for knowledge exchange, and will ensure timely advice and best practices as well as opportunities for on-going professional development for those in the field.

The launch of the Agency is coupled with the proposed transfer of Ontario's network of public health laboratories and their capacity for discovery and innovation.

The Agency, with a head office located in Toronto, is looking for founding administrative leaders who will create an environment that will inspire and attract top-level talent.  Exciting initial opportunities exist for the Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer, and 3 direct reports.  

Vice-President & Chief Administrative Officer
With a critical eye to controllership, business planning and accountability, you will provide leadership over the Agency's corporate and administrative functions. As a trusted advisor to the President & CEO, and under your stewardship, service will be provided to operational units to support their objectives and plans, and key sectoral relationships will be established. Your influence will shape the development of an organizational culture of excellence in knowledge, collaboration and delivery.

Chief Financial Officer
Integral to the Agency's business and operating excellence, you will provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of best practices to optimize the financial performance of the operational units and the complexities of key external partnerships.  Pivotal to your role will be the building of the financial frameworks, systems and plans for financial compliance, and organizational efficiency.

Chief Human Resources Officer
Creating a knowledge based organization is essential to delivering on the Agency's mandate.  Your key responsibilities will be to develop a comprehensive human resources strategy and create a high performance human resources function aligned to the overall operational objectives and plans.  You will bring a fresh approach to developing effective strategic working relationships and arrangements, and innovative initiatives.

Chief Information Officer
Responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of the information technology services to support the Agency's operations and mandate, you will provide expert leadership to a multi-site entity with diverse partners.  You will ensure that the sophisticated information and communication technology needs of the Agency's staff are met in a reliable and secure manner.  

An experienced executive with an exceptional history of leadership, achievements and best practices in your field of expertise, supported by the appropriate academic and professional designation credentials, you have the passion and drive to make a significant contribution in creating a centre of excellence. Your profile will encompass demonstrated experience in a health services organization, a research or laboratory environment, or an academic setting, preferably with proven success in a start-up.
