Among Friends is offering free training for service providers in Toronto.
An Introduction to working with LGBTQ newcomers
July 16th, July 23rd or July 27th 1-4pm (these are all the same session)
Participants will begin to understand the complexity of the LGBTQ newcomer experience, as well as identify barriers, learn terms and tools for self-reflection.
Pushing Boundaries: Creating Positive Spaces for LGBTQ newcomers:
August 13th, August 20th or August 27th, 1-4pm (these are all the same session)
Participants will discuss the importance of organizational support and how they can transform their organizations to be inclusive of marginalized people.
All trainings will be held at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services, 340 College Street, Suite 500 (at College and Spadina)

Among Friends is a three year collaborative project between the 519 Church Street Community Centre, Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services and CultureLink, which aims to improve access to services for LGBTQ refugees and immigrants in Toronto by providing training, tools for capacity building and facilitating organization change.
