"Mutual Aid and Mental Health" is the theme for this year's Self-Help Awareness Week, running Sept. 22nd - 27th, 2008. Thousands of people benefit from participating in self-help and mutual aid groups. The week's events include: the launch of a new French resource on how to start a self-help group; Annual General Meeting with guest speaker Dr David Goldbloom, vice-chair of the Mental Health Commission of Canada; two workshops on starting a starting a self-help group (including an on-line one); workshops on Facilitation Skills and a listing of other events as the information becomes available.
