Courtyard Marriott Toronto Downtown
Time for Action - Tackling Energy Poverty in Canada Through Energy
Efficiency will bring together 200-250 delegates to examine how best to
improve the energy efficiency of Canada's low-income housing.
This will be a highly interactive conference, with a number of small
group discussions leading to strengthened relationships and
partnerships. Two poster sessions will be held to facilitate direct
one-on-one discussions (see http://www.greencommunitiescanada.org for
details, and to apply).
The conference will also include panel presentations and small group discussions that will explore:
- the potential for reducing energy costs and achieving other benefits (environmental, health, neighbourhood revitalization) through low-income energy efficiency programs
- engaging low income communities, social housing providers and private landlords in these programs
- effective program design
- how we as energy efficiency program providers, partners, and participants can work together to be more effective
See http://www.greencommunitiescanada.org for program at a glance.
