Taking Action on the #HPVvaccine, Canadian Cancer Society and OPHA

The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is a strong weapon in cancer prevention. One of the Canadian Cancer Society’s key priorities is to increase uptake of the HPV vaccine among Grade 8 girls through a public education campaign. The focus will be to increase awareness of the link between HPV and cancer and the important role vaccination plays in reducing cancer risk. The Canadian Cancer Society is also currently advocating for the inclusion of boys into the Ontario school-based HPV vaccination program.
