The Alliance for Health Promotion of Eastern Ontario - Postponement

Sections:

Announces a Postponement of the February 10th Workshop

Due to the ice storm of early January, many events in eastern Ontario are being re-planned and postponed. The "Taking Action on Local HP Accountability" workshop announced in OHPE #35.0 on January 5th will now take place APRIL 7, 1998.

Sherryl Smith, co-chair of the Alliance writes:

"We are postponing our workshop on the CPHA Action Statement on Health Promotion and developing some ways of monitoring at the local level until April 7 in Ottawa 7:00 - 9:30 p.m."

From the OHPE Bulletin #35.0:

The Alliance for Health Promotion of Eastern Ontario is holding a workshop to examine the use of the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) Action Statement on Health Promotion as a potential planning and accountability framework for these important new municipal responsibilities. "We want to help define accountability at the municipal level, and ensure that health promotion and community health programming remain an effective component of health services," say the Alliance co-chairs. The workshop will involve presentations on the Action Statement and on potential monitoring and reporting formats for municipal health promotion programs.
