"Sexual Abuse and Eating Disorders" - Workshop

Held by the Eating Disorders Awareness Coalition of Waterloo Region at the Waterloo Inn, 475 King Street North, Waterloo, Ontario. Presenter

will be Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke, Ph.D. who is the Director of the Cincinnati Psychotherapy Institute and who has lectured and written extensively on the treatment of eating disoders, body image disturbance and sexual abuse. Next Mental Health Promotion Interest Group Meeting

The date for the next Mental Health Promotion Interest Group meeting has been changed to Wednesday, October 4th at 4pm (it was scheduled for September 26th). The meeting will be held at the Centre for Health Promotion, University Of Toronto (on College St). The topic of discussion will be mental health promotion and the workplace. LesBiGay Family Support Group

Sections: 

Are you lesbian, gay or bisexual and concerned about someone else's drug or alcohol use? Are you finding that their drug or alcohol use is having an impact on you?



The LesBiGay Service at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is

offering a four session support group to help partners and other loved ones to better understand how to be helpful, set limits, and increase their own support and self care.



This group is covered by OHIP and will be offered every other week starting September 27th, 5:30-7pm.


Sustainability Network Breakfast Forum: Eric Young on Social Marketing

Sections: 

At the Central Toronto YMCA (20 Grosvenor Street, just NW of College and Yonge). Free breakfast at 7:30 am and presentation from 8:00 - 9:00 am.

AIDS Walk Canada 2000

Sections: 

Tens of thousands of Canadians from coast to coast will collect pledges and walk, run, cycle or roll on Sunday September, 24th 2000. For the sixth consecutive year AIDS Walk Canada will hit the streets in an all out effort to raise funds for local AIDS organizations providing support services, AIDS prevention education programs, and policy and advocacy services in their community.
