Funding Opportunity: HSFO's Clinician Scientist Program

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO) Clinician Scientist Program is unique in that it is targeted to a wide variety of health care clinicians, including
nurses, pharmacists, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, registered dietitians, and respiratory therapists.

Clinicians whose research focus is cardiovascular or cerebrovascular in nature, and who intend to pursue a career in clinical research may apply.

The program has two phases: Phase I provides stipend support for up to three years for junior Clinician Scientists. No more than 3 years must have elapsed since the date of the Phase I applicant's first academic appointment and the proposed start date of the award. Phase II provides a contribution to stipend support for up to three years for Clinician Scientists where no more than seven years have elapsed since their first academic appointment.

The application deadline for the 2009/2010 funding year is March 31, 2009. For award and application details, please visit http://www.hsf.ca/research/en/provincial-programs/2009-hsfo-clincian-scientist-rfa.html.
