CMHA, Ontario, is a provincial association, committed to promoting mental health and improving services and support for individuals with a mental illness.
We are seeking an experienced individual to join our public policy department. You will identify emerging issues, monitor trends and respond to public issues in a portfolio which includes a focus on mental health promotion, reducing health disparities and improving access to services and supports for people with a mental illness. You will develop briefs, position papers, reports and submissions individually and in collaboration with others. You will participate in provincial committees and work groups. You will also support our knowledge transfer strategies by preparing information for our website, e-bulletins and magazine.
We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and a post-graduate degree in the social sciences, social work, health promotion or critical disability studies. Knowledge of the broad determinants of health and incorporating equity and social justice analyses in your work are required. You have experience in stakeholder engagement, policy research and working with descriptive statistics. An ability to collect and synthesize complex information, manage multiple tasks within defined deadlines, and work effectively within a team environment are required.
