The Ministry of Health Promotion is committed to promoting the health and well-being of Ontarians. As a result of recent major strategic changes, we are building capacity for health promotion through community development systems, services and resources across Ontario. Recognized as a leader in the field of community development, capacity building and community mobilization, you will utilize your knowledge of health promotion and prevention to: lead project teams of experts and partners in the planning and implementation of the ministry’s high-profile programs and major large strategic initiatives that have a critical impact on health promotion program delivery and systems throughout Ontario; provide leadership to branch and division colleagues in the planning and development of a consistent provincial community development framework; act as the lead contact to drive the Ontario Health Promotion System and vision to strengthen the capacity of health promoters throughout Ontario. Location: 393 University Avenue, Toronto.
Qualifications: demonstrated expert knowledge of community development, capacity building and community mobilization methodology, principles and best practices to act as the ministry senior specialist and expert in community development and capacity building; proven knowledge of health promotion and prevention, high-risk populations, population health, social determinants, and understanding of the critical issues, and dynamics; superior stakeholder and partnership development skills to develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, build strong linkages in project initiatives, and ensure that sound consultation processes and partnerships are developed and maintained; proven negotiation, consensus-building and conflict resolution skills; excellent program design and policy development, project planning and management skills; excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills.
Salary range: $76,389 - $100,240
