The Ministry of Health Promotion is committed to promoting the health and well-being of Ontarians. As a result of recent transformation and new directions for the ministry, we are seeking two proven strategic program leaders with specialized expertise in the area of chronic disease control and prevention, to provide program leadership, guidance and support for the planning, delivery and implementation of key provincial strategies for health promotion programs delivered by community and provincial-based organizations and groups. Your project and relationship management abilities will be essential in providing strategic project planning and leadership to concurrent program implementation projects, and nurturing strong working relationships with inter- and intra-ministry colleagues and a diverse stakeholder community. You will also provide influence and support for policy and strategic initiatives in the ministry, and prepare complex operational plans and strategies and a variety of health promotion communications materials. Location: 393 University Avenue, Toronto.
Qualifications: proven expertise and leadership skills in program implementation and delivery for large, complex, high-profile health promotion programs, combined with specialized knowledge and understanding of chronic disease prevention and control, population health and social determinants of health; understanding of health promotion principles and methods to provide health promotion expertise and advice to boards of health and stakeholders; knowledge and skills in policy and research tools, program design and program evaluation techniques to participate in policy and strategic initiatives and lead operational planning for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ministry programs and health promotion strategic initiatives; demonstrated stakeholder/project management and relationship-building expertise and excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; mediation, negotiation and facilitation skills; strategic orientation skills to understand and assess the external impact of trends and issues on internal strategy for policy and planning.
Salary range: $70,591 - $91,516
