Care of the Elderly Perspectives for Primary Care

Objectives

Program participants will acquire evidence-based approaches to key topics in caring for elderly patients in a primary care setting. Osteoporosis guidelines, principles of dementia care and a rational approach to responsible prescribing of medications to elderly patients will be highlighted. Participants will finish the day with enhanced skills in elder care and a true sense of the important role that Family Physicians and their inter-professional teams play in delivering care to elderly patients.

Target Audience: Family Physicians, Primary Care Nurses, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Other Health Professionals, Students, Residents, Geriatricians.
