New On-Line Resource: Workplace Mental Health Promotion: A How-To Guide

The Workplace Mental Health Promotion guide was developed by The Health Communication Unit (THCU) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario. This is the latest in a series of resources on workplace health promotion developed by THCU.

The purpose of this resource is to provide workplace intermediaries with a high-quality, research-based, practical tool to improve the health of individuals and organizations. This resource uses a comprehensive workplace health promotion approach and promotes a continuous process that looks at environmental improvement (physical, psychosocial, organizational, economic), personal empowerment and personal growth.

The promotion of mental health within a workplace positively affects those with and without mental illness. The focus of this resource is on creating mentally healthy workplaces that promote positive mental health and well-being for all employees. Throughout the guide, additional information, tools and case studies are provided to illustrate the concept more clearly.
