The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) Positive Space Initiative requires a Communication & Partnerships Development Coordinator.
The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) acts as a collective voice for immigrant and refugee-serving organizations and coordinates response to shared needs and concerns. OCASI is a registered charity governed by a volunteer board of directors. OCASI’s membership is comprised of 175 community-based organizations in Ontario. Typical activities include providing professional training to enhance skills of practitioners, working with communities, government and policy decision makers to enhance the economic, social and cultural contributions of immigrants and refugees and supporting community-base research.
The Communications & Partnerships Development Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of training workshop; developing and implementing an outreach and promotion strategy that strengthen relationships with and amongst organizations that serve LGBTQ immigrants and refugees across the province, including settlement agencies, LGBT groups, youth groups, women’s groups, and HIV/AIDS organizations and support the development of regional networks to encourage regional dialogue that actively is creating Positive Spaces. OCASI's community-based approach to policy development promotes the principles, policies and practices of anti-racism, equity and access through cooperation with member organizations, other organizations, elected officials, government and the broader public.
