Diabetes Educator Program, Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences

Recognized for over 50 years of academic excellence in health care education, The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences is offering the Diabetes Educator Program, the first such program globally recognized by the International Diabetes Federation. The 11 month Graduate Certificate Program is designed for individuals who are new to the field of diabetes education or for those working towards attaining certification or credits through the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board. The next program will be offered in the Fall 2010 and is a hybrid design of on-line learning with a dedicated tutor and a mandatory 3-day workshop towards the end of the program.

Advanced Specialty Courses in Diabetes Education are also available: Diabetes and Pregnancy; Diabetes in Children and Adolescents; Diabetes Management in Long Term Care; Strategies for Behavior Change in Chronic Illness. These may be taken independent of the Diabetes Educator Graduate Certificate.
