The Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program (MAREP) at the University of Waterloo is looking to hire a Knowledge Translation Specialist who will work primarily with the Partnerships in Dementia Care (PiDC) Alliance funded by a SSHRC-CURA grant.
The successful candidate will have: completed a Master's degree in health or social sciences, adult education or related field; experience and expertise in the field of knowledge translation and exchange (using a variety of methods including, but not limited to, educational workshops, development of research-based tools and resources, and/or web-based projects); previous experience in dementia education for persons with dementia, family members and/or professionals in community-based and/or long-term care settings; knowledge and experience using adult learning philosophies such as critical pedagogy and/or dialogue education approaches as an asset; knowledge and experience using participatory approaches (e.g., appreciate inquiry) or community development models; and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English.
This is a part-time position (20 hours a week) and is contingent on availability of funding.
