November 4 & 12, 2010
The Best Start Resource Centre is pleased to announce the availability of a new video in English titled “Creating a Smoke-Free Environment for Your Children”. This 24-minute video highlights the social impact of second-hand smoke on young families. It contains testimonies of situations related to second-hand smoke experienced by families. Many strategies to reduce the exposure of young children and pregnant women to second-hand smoke are provided. The video can be purchased and downloaded from: http://beststart.org/resources/tobacco/index.html. Complementary resources, including a facilitator guide, are also available.
Two webinars are planned to help service providers present the video and facilitate a discussion with groups. These training events are free of charge and participants will receive a copy of the video and facilitator guide.
Registration for the webinars is limited to 25 participants each. To register, visit
