Contract for Services - 2010-02C
Position Title: Community Consultation Facilitator
In May 2009, the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport launched the Healthy Communities Framework, an integrated approach to improving the health of Ontarians focusing on six risk factor areas (physical activity, sport and recreation; injury prevention; healthy eating; tobacco use/exposure; substance and alcohol misuse; and mental health). The goal of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Healthy Communities Partnership is to help our community foster and develop policies that make the healthy choice, the easy choice. We will build on current local partnerships and coordination structures to create a shared vision, identify priorities, develop partnerships and create and implement healthy public policy.
To inform the priority setting process described above, we are seeking a facilitator to work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement three - one day community consultations with various stakeholders. Because there are three distinct communities in WDG (Wellington County, Dufferin County and the City of Guelph), three separate community consultations will take place although the agendas and designs of the consultations may be similar.
The community consultations will engage a variety of community organizations, not-for-profits, networks, government, business, community members and other stakeholders to incorporate the perspectives of key priority populations into the priority setting process and identification of actions steps. The community consultations will also serve as a venue for information and knowledge exchange were community statistics, data and a community picture will be presented.
