Health Promoter – Level II, Brant County Health Unit

Overview: Working within the local Healthy Communities Partnerships (Partnerships) project you will work with community partners to promote co-ordinated planning and action to develop healthy public policies. In your role, you will act as a champion for the Healthy Communities Partnership, ensure community engagement principles are followed, track timelines and deadlines to ensure the Partnership project meets goals and objectives, conduct and/or participate in the community assessment, data collection and analysis processes, establish and maintain communication mechanisms with key partners, organizations and networks.

Education and Experience: a Masters degree in health promotion, public health or another related discipline, knowledge and experience in the areas of chronic disease prevention is an asset, complimented by knowledge, skills and experience in project management, partnership development, community assessment (i.e., needs assessment, situational assessment), community mobilization, engagement and consultation with multi-disciplinary stakeholders, achieving consensus, priority setting, developing recommendations, information and knowledge exchange, applied public health research, including quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, systematic literature reviews, evidence-informed practices. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills; analytical and problem solving skills, and a current Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.

Salary range: $32.21- 37.89 per hour; Full-time hours are 70 hours in a two week period (ONA Allied Collective Agreement)
