Health Services – Communicable Diseases, Healthy Sexuality Program

Reporting to the Supervisor, Healthy Sexuality – Health Promotion Team, you will provide strategic assistance, research, program planning, evaluation and day-to-day policy support to the Healthy Sexuality Program.  You will play a key role in the development and coordination of the evidence informed decision making process related to sexual health and harm reduction; as well as in identification, assessment, evaluation and provision of recommendations for program and policy development for a variety of related issues.  You will conduct literature reviews, environmental scans and utilize epidemiological and research data sources to ensure that program practice is based on the best available evidence; perform in-depth analysis of sexual health and harm reduction issues and develop policy and knowledge transfer and exchange recommendations on a variety of complex issues.  In addition, you will research, write and maintain up-to-date current program policies, procedures and related best practices; and work in conjunction with the program management team on implementation of new initiatives. You will also provide strategic direction related to the development of technology-based sexual health promotion and communication initiatives, including those specific to current and emerging social media venues. Other responsibilities include supporting implementation of the Region’s Program Planning and Evaluation framework, preparing reports on issues important to the community and specific target groups; supporting strategic plan priorities; liaising with internal and external key stakeholders; monitoring and evaluating the local implications of provincial and federal health policy related to the promotion of sexual health and harm reduction.
