- One (1) contract-full time/ approximately twelve (12) months
- One (1) temporary-full time/approximately five (5) months
- One (1) temporary-full time/approximately four (4) months
Reporting to the Supervisor of Environmental Health, the Public Health Inspector is responsible for delivering a comprehensive environmental health program in the community. A variety of professional and technical skills are used to investigate health hazards and enforce compliance under various Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, and municipal by-laws for food safety, communicable disease control, rabies control, safe drinking water and recreational water. The Public Health Inspector will perform technical assessments of food premises building plans, investigate complaints, inspect premises and provide consultative and educational services to clients. Public Health Inspectors also perform a defined role in public health emergencies; lays charges, prepare crown briefs and testify in court.
