The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO), a dynamic organization with regional offices across the province is seeking an experienced and innovative Program Coordinator to lead the organization’s new youth and mental health engagement program – Be the One.

Be the One is a mental health social-action initiative developed for-youth by-youth under the auspices of the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO).  The program aims to bring the creativity and leadership demonstrated by today’s youth into larger mental health arena through an innovative use of online media and on-the-ground youth mobilization strategies

The SSO is a charity committed to improving the quality of life for those affected by schizophrenia & psychotic illness through; public awareness, education, support programs, public policy, advocacy & research.

Reporting to the Program Director, you will play a key role in launching and raising awareness about the youth engagement program, creating youth-friendly resources, engaging youth as champions of the initiative, as well as building their leadership and capacity for policy development. Using excellent communication, organization and networking skills, you will work in cooperation with Be the One’s Youth Advisory Council and other SSO staff to build the organization’s capacity to deliver the program and its stated goals. The Program Coordinator will also assist with the development and management of Be the One’s official website, social media tools and communication materials.
