Description of Position:

In collaboration with the Centre for Nursing leadership team, senior educators at SickKids, nursing leadership in Qatar, SickKids International, and local project managers, you will be responsible for the advancement of professional practice for nurses in Qatar (and possibly other international partnerships) through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities within the context of the interprofessional team.

You will be responsible for education programs and activities that support the goals of the project and the organization, including delivery of orientation programs, professional development, and continuing education. Your role will include providing direct and indirect support and education to staff, clinical instruction, and clinical support as required. You will also be expected to provide educational support at SickKids as required.

You will work collaboratively with the central program Advanced Nursing Practice Educators (ANPE), and discipline specific educators, clinical program managers, and other inter-professional colleagues to ensure the success of the project.  

You will have direct accountability to the Associate Chief, Nursing & Interprofessional Education and SickKids International.  You will be expected to travel internationally for more than 4-6 months at a time, where you will be required to interface with a wide variety of HMC, Sidra and SickKids hospital leaders and project stakeholders.  

A comprehensive orientation to the role will be provided.


  • Your background includes strong paediatric nursing expertise. Theoretical and practical experience in adult education including program planning and evaluation is essential.
  • You function independently and collaboratively within a team. You demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • You embrace change and innovation with a positive attitude. You respect other cultures and are adaptable to Middle Eastern values. You have a solid understanding of current and future nursing health issues and the potential impact on the strategic direction of SickKids, nursing, and interprofessional education.
  • The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have a strong theoretical knowledge in nursing, along with a minimum of five years recent experience in paediatric nursing.  A Masters in Nursing, Adult Education or related field is a requirement.
