The Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) is a leader in innovative, interdisciplinary research in public health, population health and health promotion. With over 300 faculty members from a wide range of disciplines, the DLSPH represents the largest concentration of academic population and public health researchers in Canada.

The Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) was established in 1993 with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to foster and conduct research, monitoring and evaluating on and contributing to programs and policies to eliminate tobacco-related health problems in Ontario.

Working under the general direction of the Project Director, this position will provide support for evaluation, performance measurement and research. The incumbent will be responsible for qualitative and quantitative analyses; literature searches, reviews and syntheses, data collection and project coordination.



Education: Masters Degree in Public Health or social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum five years' experience in an evaluation / research environment; knowledge of evaluation design, tobacco control and other public health programs and policies; experience in developing surveys, conducting and coding interviews, quantitative and qualitative analysis, performance measurement design and implementation and knowledge exchange.

Other: Ability to work independently and in concert with others in a fast-paced research environment; excellent data interpretation skills; exceptional writing and editing skills; flexibility to work on multiple projects; demonstrated ability in project planning and design; highly developed organizational and time management skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Faculty of Medicine
