New Organization: Mad Students Society

Mad Students Society (MSS, http://www.madstudentsociety.com) is a peer support and advocacy group of/for students who have personal experiences with mental health systems, madness, mental illness, mental health disabilities, etc. MSS was created in 2005 and since then we have been meeting monthly (primarily in and around Toronto with upcoming meetings on August 11 and September 8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.) and moderating an active, private, email discussion listserv open to Mad Students living anywhere in the world. We welcome new members!

We are interested in connecting with other individuals/groups engaged in social justice, peer support, mental health, and disability work--and are particularly curious to learn what networks and alternatives exist on campuses across Canada for Mad Students or students labeled with mental health disabilities. If you know people/groups we should talk to, please let us know or forward this announcement.

For promotional materials (to share with colleagues, clients, students, staff) or further information about meeting locations, joining the listserv, or ways to support us, email Elizabeth/Alisa at [email protected].
