The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit has a challenging opportunity for a Full Time (1.0 FTE) Manager within the Healthy Living and Development Department in our Brockville Office.

The HL&D Department provides programs and services related to the Family Health, Sexual Health and Chronic Diseases and Injuries Ontario Public Health Programs.  These programs include a broad range of health promotion, prevention and protection strategies which include individual care in clinics, schools and homes, group sessions throughout the community and working with many community partners to advocate for system wide changes which will enhance health.  The successful candidates will become a member of an interdisciplinary leadership team, have responsibility for the specific program areas of Chronic Disease Prevention and Prevention of Injury and Substance Misuse, work to accomplish the broader Health Unit mandate and strategic plan and forge strong relationships with many community partners.

Requirements for this position include a Baccalaureate Degree in a health profession.  A Masters Degree in a health or related discipline is considered an asset. Candidates who are eligible for registration with a college must hold current registration or certification. Candidates must have five years experience in local public health.  Management experience will be considered an asset.  Candidates must have excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with individuals, groups and communities, managing human resources, program delivery and evaluation, IT skills including social media avenues, and an understanding of the social determinants of a healthy community.

The current salary range is $81,402 to $95,652
