Deadline October 15, 2012
Are you passionate about social justice? Are you a leader in providing excellent services and effective advocacy for downtown Toronto’s homeless?
Street Health is seeking an Executive Director to guide us to a new level of leadership. You will lead and inspire a team of talented, passionate staff who provide non-judgmental services and who challenge systemic causes of poverty. You will excel in this position if you are strategic, innovative, compassionate, collaborative and flexible. You will treat co-workers, community partners and clients with enthusiasm, fairness and respect. You will make a difference every day.
You will need a demonstrated strength in managing financial and human resources. Knowledge of community-based health or social service provision is essential. Knowledge of the local environment, including our many partner agencies, would be an asset.
Street Health is a non-profit community based agency that improves the health of homeless and under-housed people in Toronto. Our work is focused in the neighbourhood around Dundas and Sherbourne Streets, an area with the largest concentration of homeless shelters and drop-in centres in Canada. We address the social determinants of health through programs and services, education and advocacy. We provide our services on the street, in parks, and in homeless shelters and drop-ins.
We envision a day when our services are not needed, but until then our fierce commitment continues. You can read more about Street Health at http://www.streethealth.ca
