Casual Public Health Nurse, Sexual Health Clinic, Middlesex-London Health Unit

The Middlesex-London Health Unit is accepting applications for up to 2 Casual Public Health Nurses to work in the Family Planning and Sexually Transmitted Infections Clinic within Oral Health, Communicable Disease and Sexual Health Services.

Sexual Health Services includes health promotion and clinical services. The Clinic has two main programs: Family Planning and the prevention, testing and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). This team provides education and counseling regarding contraception, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, STIs, disease management, partner notification and harm reduction strategies.

Requirements for this position include current CNO registration as a Registered Nurse and a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited nursing program. Candidates will have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, as well as good computer skills. Preference will be given to those with experience in the areas of Women’s Health, Sexual Health and/or Sexual Health Promotion, as well as an in depth knowledge of Sexually Transmitted Infections and Family Planning. Flexible work hours are required, as well as a valid driver’s licence and own transportation. The ability to speak French and other languages would also be considered an asset.

Along with an assignment in The Sexual Health Clinic, successful candidates may also work in other areas of the Health Unit.
