Health Services – Chronic Disease & Injury Prevention
As an active member of the Workplace Health Team, you will plan, promote, develop, implement and evaluate health promotion policies, practices and programs related to the promotion of workplace health in order to influence and target public and private business sectors as well as local business associations within the Region of Peel. You will apply health promotion knowledge using proven program planning and evaluation tools and methods. You will integrate your knowledge of public health sciences including population health, social determinants of health, epidemiology and applicable legislation. With strong research, analytical and critical appraisal skills, you will proactively identify emerging workplace health trends and issues and provide analysis based on evidence, prepare briefings, reports and recommendations that will influence strategic initiatives, programs and policy development that will positively impact workplace health outcomes. You will provide consultation and knowledge exchange to management and other workplace health professionals based on situational assessments conducted, workplace demographic information knowledge and data interpretation. Using your workplace health knowledge and expertise, you will consult and collaborate with other internal and external partners and stakeholders to support the implementation of effective workplace strategies and interventions that align with the Public Health Strategic Plan and priorities (e.g. Supportive Environments for Healthy Living, Smoke-free Living).
