AllerGen NCE Inc., part of Canada’s Network of Centres of Excellence (NCE) program, is seeking a full-time highly skilled writer, editor and communications specialist.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working with a team of highly motivated, skilled professionals, AllerGen seeks a highly skilled and experienced writer with exceptional editing communications/marketing skills who will bring communications, media and public relations, marketing and knowledge mobilization expertise to the Network’s Administrative Centre team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall communications, marketing and public relations activities of the Network, and for the delivery of a variety of products and services required to develop, implement and support the activities of a multi-million dollar national research enterprise with multiple stakeholders and functions.

  • Ability to implement internal and external communications strategies, marketing strategies, public relations, knowledge diffusion, dissemination and uptake, partnership development and liaison strategies, and develop and deliver all communications on behalf of the Network (including all aspects of the AllerGen website). Preparing the Network’s annual report, success stories publications and newsletters are key deliverables in this position. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as within an interdependent team and under tight deadlines.
  • A minimum of five years related experience is required, as is a University degree. Master’s level education is preferred.
  • AllerGen NCE Inc. is a not-for-profit, independently incorporated, national Network Centres of Excellence (NCE), funded by Industry Canada, through the federal granting councils, CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC. An independent Board of Directors governs the Network.

The position is a full-time contract position. The place of work is McMaster University.
